Principal's message
Nestled on the edge of the Royal National Park, Waterfall Public School is a place where every child is known, valued, and cared for. Our unique setting allows us to blend academic excellence with a deep connection to nature, culture, and community. As Principal, my leadership is centred on strong relationships, high expectations, and a deep belief that every child can succeed. We provide a warm, inclusive environment with tailored support for each learner, whether they need extension, support, or opportunities to grow socially and emotionally. Our approach is to teach the whole child, through rich learning experiences, student voice and community partnerships. With a strong wellbeing focus, we prepare our students to thrive both now and into the future. I warmly invite you to come and visit our school. I’d love to show you what makes Waterfall PS such a special place to learn and grow.
Miss Yvette Hopper, Principal of Waterfall Public School

Smaller Class Sizes with Personalised Support
At Waterfall Public School, we pride ourselves on our small class sizes, where every student is known, valued, and supported. Each class is guided by a dedicated teacher and supported by a Student Learning Support Officer (SLSO), ensuring that every child receives the individual attention they need to thrive. This strong teacher–SLSO partnership allows us to personalise learning, nurture wellbeing, and create an environment where all students can grow with confidence.
Beyond the Classroom: Extra-Curricular Opportunities in a Bushland Setting
Waterfall Public School offers students rich opportunities to learn, lead, and grow beyond the classroom. Our natural environment is the perfect backdrop for a wide range of extra-curricular activities, from creative arts and sport to various incursions and excursions, gardening, wellbeing initiatives, and lunchtime clubs. These experiences allow students to connect with each other, their community, and the world around them.
Our bushland location also strengthens the connection to our signature programs. Through our Leading with Heart High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) Program, students develop empathy, teamwork, resilience, and leadership skills in meaningful, hands-on ways.
In partnership with the Royal National Park Environmental Education Centre, our Learning on Country Aboriginal Education Program immerses students in Aboriginal culture, perspectives, and connection to Country, deepening respect and understanding in a setting that is truly unique.
These opportunities foster confident, capable learners who embrace challenge, value culture, and are inspired by their environment to make a difference.
Before and After School Care
Waterfall Public School offers convenient Before and After School Care onsite, providing a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students outside regular school hours. The program is designed to support families by offering flexible care options while giving students opportunities to play, create, and connect with friends.
In our bushland setting, children enjoy both structured activities and free play, supported by caring staff who ensure each child feels included and valued. Whether it’s starting the morning with calm routines or winding down after a busy school day, our Before and After School Care program helps students feel at home while supporting busy families.
